Ministry Opportunities with Medhurst Churches

Grace Church Wakefield

We are looking for someone to help plant a church on a council estate in a northern working class town. We are open to ideas of who that might be.

It might be someone who is keen to shape a vision, help raise finances and build a team…

It might be someone who wants to work under the direction and guidance of others…

It might be a man or a woman.

We are open to ideas of how you can fit with who we are and what we believe the Lord is calling us to.

Who You are

  • You’ll have been part of a church community elsewhere, and have stuck it out through thick and thin. You will love the Lord and all the Lord’s people with a godly humility and be keen to get plugged into the day-to-day life of a church as a church member alongside any more formal role.
  • You will be someone who is flexible, committed, ready to work at something that may be very slow. You don’t have to have a track record of success. If you have experienced failure in the past we are interested in you.
  • You’ll want to grow in your understanding and appreciation of the gospel, in its power to continue to change us and those we want to reach.
  • You’ll be committed to the Bible as the word of God, the gospel as the power of God.
  • You’ll be committed to a ‘complementarian’ understanding men and women’s roles in ministry.
  • You’ll believe in believer’s baptism.
  • You’ll be up for connecting with FIEC initiatives, and seeing a plant emerge as part of and with the support of Medhurst Ministries.

Who we are

We are a church plant from Dewsbury Evangelical and have been meeting for about 7 years. We are part of the FIEC and Medhurst Ministries.

What we can off you

To join with Grace Church Wakefield on an adventure where we need to see the power of God at work.

To be part of a group of ordinary Christians who are full of faults and failings but trust in an amazing God.

We currently have some funding that might cover about 2 days a week for 2 years so that’s something we would need to talk about
