Church planting and pastoring churches in poor and forgotten communities have their own set of unique challenges. That is why the Medhurst Ministries Pastors Network is so beneficial for pastors and planters, both new and experienced. The network provides one-to-one support online and in person and runs monthly regional cohorts for pastors and church planters to train with and learn from other ministers in similar contexts.
As well as meeting monthly within their regional cohorts, each cohort member will receive visits from a pastoral coach who will maintain regular contact to work through ministry situations. And there is also the opportunity for each cohort member to attend the annual pastor’s retreat, family retreat and Weekender.
As well as preparing and equipping women for ministry, Medhurst Women seeks to provide the pastoral and practical support that many of our gospel workers and pastor’s wives need to sustain them in their often difficult and isolating work.
Many of the women in our network would struggle without the support, friendship, and counsel from the other good, Godly women who are closely supporting one another through Medhurst Women.
As much as our pastors, gospel workers and their families love their communities, the challenges of ministry in an area of deprivation can be spiritually, emotionally and physically exhausting. That is why Medhurst Ministries allows every one of our network members to attend two retreats a year and spend some time out of their context to have fun, relax and fellowship with others who live and minister in similar contexts.
