Council estates often have more single-parent families, with women playing a central role in family life and leadership. This matriarchal structure makes women key figures in the community, raising children, caring for relatives, and leading initiatives. Therefore, training women for council estate ministry is essential to address unique challenges and provide a holistic approach to outreach and leadership. Women in these communities can provide vital relational networks and be strong spiritual leaders.
Medhurst Women is a 3-year program offering contextualised training and support for women ministering in deprived areas. Designed by experienced practitioners, our program offers flexible, practical, and theologically robust training for those ministering in council estates.
After enrolling in the program, each student will receive:
Online training
In-person and online one-to-one support
An opportunity to attend the Medhurst Women’s Retreat
Theologically Robust
Helping us to understand and accurately teach God’s Word.
Personal
Encouraging us to grow in our understanding of God, ourselves, and others.
Contextualised

Please email women@medhurstministries.org to request an application pack.
Once the application and references are received, we will contact you for an interview. If offered a place, you will receive an invoice for the annual fee of £500.
