about the church
Grace Community Church was formed in 2009 when a small group were sent from
Leeds Reformed Baptist Church, now Emmanuel Baptist Church, to build a
fellowship reaching out with the Gospel to an area where there was very little gospel
presence.
We sought to remove as many barriers as possible for people accessing the Church
as well as considering how to take the Gospel to those who live on the fringes of
society and are hard to reach. By God’s grace we have seen people come from
many different backgrounds, nationalities and with varied abilities.
We currently meet in Cookridge Village Hall where we run a variety of ministries from
our toddler group through to an over 60s gathering. Our Sunday morning services
are held here too with early Sunday morning studys for young people and for those
who are seekers and with additional needs. Other ministries range from outreach at
two local care homes, Home groups, midweek meetings, mens and ladies
fellowships.
The area we meet in north Leeds is diverse in terms of council estates butting up to
middle class areas. We have a real desire to have a long-term witness on the Holt
Park estate as there are no gospel churches in this area at present.
